UNCAP (Ubiquitous iNteroperable Care for Ageing People)

In this project an open, scalable and privacy-savvy ICT infrastructure designed to help aging people live independently while maintaining and improving their lifestyle will be developed. UNCAP will leverage on commercial biosensors and localisation solutions. It will last 3 years starting from January 2015 and is co-financed by the EU through the Horizon 2020 programme. It involves 23 partners from nine countries.

Future-Shape will adapt its large-area SensFloor system to the UNCAP infrastructure. Pilot will be the nursing home „Wohnen am Schlossanger“ in Höhenkirchen, where 10 rooms and bathrooms will be equipped with the SensFloor system, and 10 more rooms with sensor mats in front of the bed.

The goal is to provide support in nursing homes, which helps the carers to be at the right place at the right time to assist the patients. It will alert the nurses, when someone has fallen down, prevent falls by switching on an orientation light at night, or indicate when someone in danger of falling is getting out of bed.
